The process of collaging as a group has the potential to break down barriers, be fun, and create a better understanding of who we are as individuals. Engaging with collage art stimulates the brain in various ways, from pattern recognition to navigating complex compositions, enhancing creativity along the way. This art form allows us to access deeper thoughts and emotions that may seem just out of reach. By focusing on creating and communicating with images instead of words, we're able to capture ideas at a deeply authentic (and maybe even a subconscious) level.
Collage is a highly versatile, yet low-stakes art form. This makes it a great medium for me to facilitate building a truly safe space. My 20 years of experience leading creative teams in corporate settings has made me adept in creating environments where participants feel safe to create. In my workshops I've seen participants laugh, play, and find new insights about themselves and their teammates. I've witnessed new bonds being made as participants share their vulnerabilities and new perspectives. Common ground is recognized and uniqueness is celebrated.
